LATEST NEWS
The first half of 2006 has been an exciting time in the life of the United Methodist Church Trustees. Our kitchen project debt should be paid in full this year with the completion of our donations and pledges. We all have benefited from the conveniences provided by this project. From a tiny seed, actually a sizable donation, the kitchen idea grew to completion with the help of the congregation.
In February we lost our main boiler and limped through the heating season on our auxiliary boiler. We were rewarded by its faithfulness and stamina. Our east wall continues to stand tall under the ever-present ravages of time and gravity.
It is not time to address these two issues. The trustees have contracted with Vick’s Heating and Plumbing to install a new efficient boiler system that should meet our needs for the next 20 30 years. The trustees have also hired masonry team of Ted Wilson and Kevin Lee to repair the missing masonry of the east exterior wall and repair the sagging lintel above the window well. Both projects should complete the church’s physical and mechanical needs for the future.
The trustees need your help to finance these two projects. Because the trustees operate without an annual budget and finance projects as the need arises, it is now time to seek your support. The boilers were chosen for their efficiency and their ability to same as much as $2,300 per heating season based on today’s natural gas prices. This, along in with a $1,930 rebate made this system a wise choice for the trustees. The extra difference of $12,000 from our first boiled bid can be made up in a reasonable time. Everyone contacted about the Munchkin boiler System has great reviews for the product. This Munchkin System will carry a cost of $32,571.00 and will be installed for the next heating season.
The east side window and wall project could be patched rather and repaired for a smaller fee. However, the trustees are hoping to repair the wall so future members will not have to address this topic again. This project carries an estimated of $10,000 from Ted Wilson and Kevin Lee and will giving in late summer.
The trustees have se a goal of $45,000 - $50,000 to cover these two projects and any cost overrides. We are already fortunate to have raised $8,643.75 for our boiler system through our spring auction and have received $1,370 as a start for the east side wall project. With this total of $10,013.75 in hand we look for the remaining $35,000 - $40,000 to come from our faithful congregation. We will soon be seeking pledges from you to finish these projects so God’s work will continue in this church.
